Dear Valeria,

Nice to meet you, my name is Jun Lee. I’m sending this message in regards to our Epistolary genre assignment. I am a second-year Chemistry major and have been living in Southern California for most of my life. I enjoy reading dystopian, fantasy novels which also include Dracula.

I’d like to describe my first impression of Dracula in one word, addicting. I can’t seem to stop reading once I open the book. I felt deeply intrigued by the various characters but specifically Dracula himself. I liked the dark, gloomy atmosphere Dracula’s castle and the overall land gave. I was impressed by the depth of his character design and personality which impacted my favoritism for him. Dracula’s mannerism befitting of his nobility is beyond perfect and seemingly made me pay closer attention. The introductions of Mina and Lucy was a decent surprise as I got to see a completely different mood and character set. This new set of perspectives and characters is something I became more curious about and would consider researching.

As my original research intention was related to my favorite character, Dracula, I would still like to find more about his background and the extent of his vampiric powers. I do realize that he’s an evil, noble vampire but is still more mysterious than the other characters. Another research topic would be the connection between Lucy, Mina, and Dracula. The curiosity I have for all three characters is immense and would be pleased to pursue it. Of course, anything with Dracula seems like fine interest for me.

Although this is supposed to be a professional email, I can’t help myself from sounding informal. I don’t like to take up too much precious time so I’ll keep it short. Thank you for reading my email and have a great week.

Sincerely,

Jun Lee
